AVIATION ACCIDENTS

Mike is a pilot himself. His love of flying started when he was a child growing up on air bases and missile sites where his father worked. He learned to fly in gliders and eventually became a private pilot. Mike’s love of aviation directed his first legal work into the same area. His first job as an attorney was handling a wide variety of aviation crash cases. There, he handled aircraft component failures, airline disasters, military jet and helicopter crashes, air traffic control failures and private plane incidents. The work has taken him across the world handling cases in the United States and overseas.

Aviation crash litigation can be very technical. It requires a more than basic understanding of flying, experience with the engineering of airframes and power plants and operating in controlled airspace. It also requires strong legal skills as these cases typically involve large aircraft companies, major airlines and sophisticated flight operations or government agencies. Mike has the experience of trying numerous aviation crash cases, some involving deaths and serious injuries, to successful jury verdicts. This experience has taught him how to handle the legal, engineering and aviation aspects of these cases.
